A team of driven entrepreneurs and food scientists decided to establish a world-class food and beverage award organization, with the goal of discovering and awarding the most excellent in taste brands, through a blind sensory evaluation that ensures the integrity and trust of the assessment process and awarded results.

About us
In May 2018, a passionate team of visionary entrepreneurs and food engineers established the Mediterranean Taste Awards, with the mission to search for, discover, and award the most excellent in-taste food and beverage creations.
Six years later, and after our professional tasting team has tasted and evaluated over 7080 food & beverage labels, awarding over 3120 of them, the same team which has set the standards of Excellent Taste recognition in the food market is bringing something new and exciting that aims to significantly improve the position of our organisation and our partners as well.
Having in our corporate DNA the merit of change and evolution, we are boldly responding to the need for further expansion by launching in the food market the Excellent Taste Awards brand, which comes as the right addition to accompany the MTA Awards, aiming to serve our current and future food producers and partners to the optimum level.
This addition is necessary, as it will enable our organisation to become more inclusive, expand geographically at a faster pace, enhance our marketing and communication capabilities, and clearly convey our message to the global food community.
The Excellent Taste Awards and the Mediterranean Taste Awards brands will complement each other and operate as standalone award brands giving greater agility and clarity of our message globally.
Now, the food and beverage producers will have two options available depending on what fits their brand and business needs. On the other hand, our organisation will be able to respond and pass their message more strongly and directly, opening new window opportunities for all.

Excellent Taste has introduced the updated Sensory Quality System™, a structured and transparent evaluation framework designed to ensure consistency, objectivity, and credibility across its awards. This system applies advanced sensory analysis methods to assess 23 distinct food categories, covering all key aspects of taste, aroma, texture, and overall product character. By combining expert panels with standardized criteria, the Sensory Quality System guarantees that each product is judged fairly and that outstanding producers are recognized for their true excellence.

The Berlin GOOA – Global Olive Oil Awards is an annual event and one of the largest olive oil competitions worldwide.
June 2023
The fourth Mediterranean Taste Awards season was successfully completed. Over 250 food & beverage businesses from over 25 countries registered on the event.

The third Mediterranean Taste Awards season was completed with great success. Over 250 food & beverage businesses from over 22 countries participated on the event.

The second Mediterranean Taste Awards season was hosted in London and Berlin and was a huge success, with over 150 food and beverage companies taking part.

The first Mediterranean Taste Awards season took place in London, with the participation of over 100 food and beverage businesses.
January 2020
Mediterranean Taste Awards founded in London, UK by a team of aspiring and successful entrepreneurs and food scientists.
We have accepted and evaluated food and beverage brands from 45 countries.
